SAVITRI - 2 episodes - Tamil dance-drama,

“SAVITRI” which received CERTIFICATE FOR CREATIVE
EXCELLENCE Award at the 28 th US International Film &
Video Festival, Illinois, in 1995, is a 2-part Tamil dance-drama.
Based on the internationally acclaimed English classic
written by the Indian mystic Sri Aurobindo, the Tamil
lyrics are written by Dr.S.Krishnaswamy and set to music
by Shyam Joseph. “SAVITRI” is choreographed
and performed by Lata & Gita.
AADALENUM JEEVANADHI - 20 EPISODES
The Serial features about 50 top classical dancers
who have never been brought together under one cohesive
serial of 20 episodes in the past. Celebrities such
as Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam, the Kalakshetra Group, the
Dhananjayans, the Narasimhacharis, Chitra Visweswaran,
Anita Ratnam, Alarmel Valli, Leela Samson, Malavikka
Sarukkai, Radha, as well as several groups have participated
in the serial.
Every episode has two or three different performers.
With photography by Award Winning Cinematographer, Madhu
Ambat, the serial has been edited and directed by the
well-known dancing duo, LATA & GITA, who have also
performed in the serial. Dr.S.Krishnaswamy has functioned
as the Creative Consultant, putting together the diverse
content with a thread of continuity. The programme has
been a big hit in Singapore in terms of audience rating
and critical acclaim.

NATYANJALI – 13 EPISODES
This 13 episode serial on Indian dance forms takes a kaleidoscopic
view of every major classical as well as folk dance forms
of India with some of the best talents of folk dance and
star names of classical dance performing specially for
this serial. It includes Bharata natyam, Kathak, Manipuri,
Odissi, Chau, Kuchipudi, Mohini Attam, Andhra Natyam,
besides folk dances of Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Nagaland,
Manipur, Bihar, Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
The serial also explains the underlying unity in diversity
of Indian culture as manifested through these different
dance forms, which have the under current of links established
in the foundation of ancient treatise of Natya sastra.
The serial includes one specially composed and choreographed
dance number, which features dancers from six classical
dance forms performing a single number. The star artistes
of classical dance featured include Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam,
Shaswati Sen, Nalini & Kamalini, Javeri sisters,
Swarupa Sen & Bijyoni Satpati, Kavitha Dwivedi,
Kala Krishna, Shoba Naidu, and others.
